Geoffrey Lewis graduated from Dublin University (Trinity College) in 1973 with a Bachelor of Business Studies Degree. He trained as a Chartered Accountant with a big four firm in Dublin before transferring to their London firm in 1977 to gain more experience.

In 1978 he returned to Ireland to take up a position in Ormsby & Rhodes in Dublin. In January 1981 he was appointed a Partner in that firm where he held the role of Chairman of the Audit Standards Committee for the UK and Ireland for many years. In 1990 he became Managing Partner.

Geoffrey is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. In the past, he has been a member of the BKR European Board for a number of years, taking over as Chairman in 2000. He was Chairman of the BKR European Audit Standards Committee from its inauguration in 1995 to June 2000. In 1997 he was responsible for the establishment of the BKR Worldwide Standards Committee and served as Chairman of that Committee from that date to June 2000. In 1999 he was appointed a European Representative on the BKR Worldwide Board.  He was European Chairman for BKR from 2000 to 2002 and Chairman of the Worldwide Board for BKR from 2004 to 2006.

Geoffrey’s professional experience includes the audit of companies of all sizes including public companies, multinationals and Irish companies. He was the partner responsible for the audit of Ireland’s largest chain of retail stores. He also has wide experience in the audit of not for profit and charitable organisations. He has considerable experience in conflict resolution and advice in family company situations. Geoffrey’s prime interests are in the advisory role where he can assist international companies who wish to establish an operation in Ireland and also in his advice to small and medium-sized enterprises, particularly where a second-generation is involved.
